February 2: “The Magic Rice Paddle” and Oni masks

Join us for a celebration of Setsubun, or the changing of seasons, with the story “The Magic Rice Paddle” in the land of Oni monsters. Following the kamishibai presentation, make your own Oni mask and learn how Japanese families wish for good luck through mame-maki, or bean throwing. Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi! Out with the monsters and in with good fortune!
