JASH PRIVACY POLICY

Japan-America Society of Houston (JASH) respects the privacy of every individual visiting www.jas-hou.org (the “Web Site”), and recognizes that protecting the privacy and security of the personally identifiable information is an important responsibility. 

The following discloses JASH’s information gathering and dissemination practices of the Web Site.  In order to fully understand your rights, JASH encourages you to read this Privacy Policy.

Our Web servers may collect anonymous, aggregated information such as when you visited our site, how long you stayed, where you went while you were here and if you linked here from another site. JASH aggregates such information to measure the use of our Web Site and to improve its content.

We may also collect certain information about you, such as your IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, domain name, links you clicked on to reach the Web Site, and information regarding your operating system and browser when you browse the Web Site.

We collect personally identifiable information from you at several different points on our Web Site. However, we collect this personally identifiable information from you only if you provide the information to us voluntarily. For example, if you choose to purchase items through the Web Site, become a JASH member, sign up for JASH educational program, or become a JASH Sponsor you must provide us personally identifiable information such as your name, address, telephone number, email address, and credit or debit card information. We also collect information about you when you request information about our educational programs, sponsorship programs and other programs and services. We also collect information about you when you send us an e-mail, so that we may respond to your message. 

COOKIES
When you visit our Web Site, we place a “cookie” in the browser files of your computer. A “cookie” is a file that tracks what you do on our Web Site. Our “cookie” does not collect any personally identifying information about you. We use the information it collects for administrative purposes and to understand how visitors use our site. JASH uses the information you provide to us to process your orders and to provide our services to you. We may also use this information to contact you regarding upcoming events and for other promotional or marketing purposes. In addition, the information you provide to us is shared on occasion with other arts organizations to help them contact consumers for marketing purposes.

We sometimes engage third parties, such as contractors, to provide certain operational services to us or on our behalf. We may share your information with those third parties as necessary for the third party to provide that service.

JASH reserves the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process. 

HOW YOU CAN “OPT-OUT,” ACCESS, UPDATE OR DELETE YOUR INFORMATION
You can see, review and change your information by sending a request to us at lhurley@jas-hou.org. At any time, you may request us to delete your information by sending us an email at lhurley@jas-hou.org. Although, we will make every effort to delete your information from our databases, we may need to retain your information in our archives and records in order to comply with law, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our Terms of Use and other policies, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

SECURITY 
JASH has procedures in place that limit access to your personally identifiable information to those employees and other individuals who need to know such information to provide products and services to you. We will maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the confidentiality of your personally identifiable information as required by law. However, such precautions do not guarantee the absolute safety of your data, and JASH makes no guarantees, warranties or representation that your information is protected from viruses and other security attacks. Further, while JASH follows appropriate procedures to ensure that third parties will keep your information secure, JASH cannot make any guarantees with respect to the actions or policies of such third parties.
