This class is for the beginners who have never learned Japanese. Students can learn Japanese without the pressure of memorizing hiragana and katakana (Japanese phonetic symbols)

The students learn the basic expressions for:

• Greetings

• Self-introduction

• Communicating with front desk clerks at hotels

• Communicating with salesclerks

• Communicating with taxi drivers, bus drivers, etc.

• Buying over-the-counter medication

Just Getting Started will meet from 6:30 - 7:30 PM on Tuesdays from 8/11 to 10/6 (no lesson on 9/29). Please see the class schedule here for details.

10% late registration fees will be in effect from 12 PM (CT) August 7, 2026 for Session 4 classes.
